Treatment Options

The basic philosophy of the Multiple Sclerosis Program’s clinical care team is to focus on the whole patient. Our multidisciplinary team develops treatment plans for our patients that will maximize your ability and minimize your disability.

Although there is currently no cure for multiple sclerosis, our specialists provide individualized treatments that can decrease the frequency of MS attacks, and impede the onset of permanent disability. Patients can sustain greater functionality over the course of the illness and work with physicians to craft strategies to gain a greater sense of control over the illness.

We provide innovative symptom management of fatigue, spasticity, bowel and bladder dysfunction, sexual difficulties, mood disorders, pain, osteoporosis, and assistive device utilization.

Our team includes:

  • Clinical nurses
  • Counselors
  • Neurologist team leader
  • Neuro-ophthalmologist
  • Neuro-psychologist
  • Neuroradiologists
  • Neuro-urologist
  • Physical and occupational therapists
  • Registered dietitian
  • Rehabilitation specialists
  • Social workers
  • Urologists

Family and patient education concerning the mechanism of disease, diagnosis, treatment, and new clinical trials in MS is considered paramount to the program’s success. We work closely with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to make this information available.
