Pediatric-Adolescent Gynecology

For girls age newborn to 18 in need of gynecological services, our physicians are specially trained to understand their unique needs. With a keen understanding of the development and anatomy of pediatric and adolescent girls, our physicians take great strides to examine and treat girls in a manner that is sensitive to their special needs.

All care is provided through a joint effort with Children's Medical Center at Legacy.

What We Treat

We can diagnose and manage congenital reproductive anomalies, disorders of sex development, gynecologic malignancies, gynecologic disorders in medically complicated children, and reproductive problems.

Some of the conditions we treat include:

  • Pregnancy prevention
  • Reconstructive management of uterine or vaginal abnormalities
  • Vaginal discharge
  • Vaginal trauma
  • Vaginitis

Confidentiality

Whatever patients (whether adult or teen) tell their health care provider is, by law, confidential unless the doctor believes that they are a danger to themselves or others, or they can’t make decisions on their own.

However, it is helpful and important that teens and parents have an open line of communication so that any concerns about health or any other worries can be discussed freely between them. Adolescents need to know that their parents will be there to protect and support them.
