Jarett Berry, M.D., a preventive cardiologist at UT Southwestern.

UT Southwestern Medical Center's Preventive Cardiology Program provides specialized patient care focused on heart disease prevention, using clinical expertise combined with knowledge of the latest research advances from our labs and elsewhere.

We work with each patient to assess their risk of developing cardiovascular disease based on traditional risk factors, hereditary factors, and other conditions that may affect their future health.

Heart Disease Prevention Benefits

You could benefit from our Preventive Cardiology Program if you:

  • Have had a heart attack, stroke, or peripheral artery disease at a young age
  • Have multiple family members who have had these diseases
  • Have risk factors for atherosclerosis that are difficult to control, such as abnormal cholesterol, diabetes, or smoking

A multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, and nutritionists tailors a medical plan to aggressively reduce risk factors and to prevent heart disease and its complications in each individual.
