UT Southwestern Medical Center offers both diagnostic and therapeutic neuroradiology. Our highly experienced, broad-based faculty includes specialists in head and neck radiology, spine imaging, magnetic resonance imaging, and interventional neuroradiology.
Available services include standard neuroradiology CT and MR imaging, diagnostic myelography, angiography and discography, as well as catheter-based treatments such as cerebral aneurysm coiling, carotid and cerebral angioplasty and stenting, and procedures for dissolving blood clots in stroke.
Through our Spine Imaging Program, we offer diagnostic biopsies, as well as vertebroplasty (injection of glue material into vertebral bodies to help control back pain and osteoporosis) and facet injections. Percutaneous biopsies in head and neck radiology are also performed.
Our Neuroradiology Program is engaged in research activity in many of these areas, as well as patient studies in conjunction with clinical services on the campus. We also maintain a research angiography lab.
