Created through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), this database has comparative information regarding Medicare participating hospitals in the U.S. This information is usually 1-3 years old.
Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) Survey
The survey was developed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, to measure patient satisfaction with their health care experience. This information is usually 6-18 months old.
National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI)
This is a national database of quality and safety indicators that provides national comparative data to participating hospitals regarding nursing quality.
Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey
This organization is a leader in assessing patient satisfaction for health care organizations.
University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC)
This organization is an alliance of 118 academic medical centers and their hospitals that was developed to help these centers attain excellence in quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN)
This is a database of health care surveillance systems of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
