Urologic Cancer

Our specialists are recognized as national leaders in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of urologic cancers, and the Simmons Cancer Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center provides state-of-the-art facilities and patient care for people undergoing treatment.

Jeffrey Cadeddu, M.D., focuses on minimally invasive treatments of urologic diseases, including prostate cancer.

Conditions We Treat

The Simmons Cancer Center urologic oncology team sees patients seeking medical guidance, treatment, and support for bladder, kidney, penile, prostate, and testicular cancers.

Our specialists were among the first in the United States to offer new treatment options such as brachytherapy, laparoscopic surgery, and radiofrequency ablation as the preferred methods. We remain at the forefront using robotic surgery to ensure precision and accuracy.

Our Research

In recent years our urologic cancer researchers have identified the biomarkers that may pinpoint prostate cancer recurrence, as well as discovering that some hormonal dietary supplements may promote prostate cancer progression. This emphasis on research gives our patients the option of participating in clinical trials for the prevention and detection of urologic cancers.
