Healthy Differences

Bruce Meyer, M.D., M.B.A., Executive Vice President for Health System Affairs

I'm an Ob/Gyn by training, so I have a particular interest in women’s health. There are nuances to women’s health that make their care different from men’s, apart from the obvious. Take cardiology, for instance. Women exhibit some heart disease symptoms differently than men. Who knew?

Well, at  UT Southwestern, we did. In fact, we have a number of experts in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions that particularly impact the health of women. In this issue of UT Southwestern MED, we focus on several areas that may be of interest to those who care about women, with articles on cardiology, preventive medicine, and reproductive health, among others.

Of course, we’ve also included some topics that are relevant to both genders. No matter what your health interests, you can count on UT Southwestern to offer special and specialized care.
