Babu G. Welch, M.D., received educational degrees from Morehouse College and Howard University College of Medicine, where he pursued his interests in the sciences, world literature, and Spanish culture. He completed his general neurosurgical training at the George Washington University Medical Center (Washington, D.C.), where he gained significant experience under the tutelage of Dr. Anthony J. Caputy and Dr. Laligam Sekhar. He then completed fellowship training in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery at UT Southwestern with Drs. Duke Samson and Jonathan White.
Dr. Welch focuses his career on the evaluation and treatment of cerebrovascular disorders – guiding patients through the full range of treatment options available to them. He is experienced in a comprehensive range of neurosurgical therapies, including microsurgical techniques, extracranial to intracranial bypass surgery, skull base surgery, and carotid surgery.
