UTSW Hospitals recognized for excellence, connectedness

For the third consecutive year, UT Southwestern Zale Lipshy University Hospital has won the Pinnacle of Excellence Award from Press Ganey, a national firm that measures patient satisfaction. The award recognizes leading health care facilities that achieve and maintain high levels of excellence in patient satisfaction for multiple years.

Zale Lipshy also won the Guardian of Excellence Award from Press Ganey for outstanding performance in clinical quality. Meanwhile, in its first full year of operation, William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital received a national Rising Star Quality Leadership award from the University HealthSystem Consortium for its quality and patient safety efforts.

Along with patient care-related awards, UT Southwestern has been ranked one of the “Most Connected Hospitals” for 2015-2016 based on its commitment to the use of digital technology in health care. The honor, bestowed by U.S. News & World Report, recognizes U.S. hospitals that demonstrate an ability to share data with providers, improve patient safety through computerization, and engage patients by providing them with electronic access to their medical information. In addition, Hospital & Health Networks magazine has recognized UT Southwestern as one of the “Most Wired” campuses in the country for five consecutive years.

“These awards highlight UT Southwestern’s commitment to patient satisfaction and clinical quality, which are at the heart of the health care we provide each day,” says John Warner, M.D., CEO of University Hospitals.
