Sports injuries can happen to anyone at any time. Whenever they occur, experts at UT Southwestern can help. And thanks to the installment of a new 24-hour Sports Medicine Injury Hotline, patients now have immediate access to a member of the UTSW Sports Medicine team for fast answers to questions and expedited appointment scheduling, if needed.
“Our team specializes in using highly advanced arthroscopic as well as nonsurgical procedures to get patients back in action,” says William Robertson, M.D., an orthopaedic surgeon who is Chief of the UT Southwestern Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service and a former college athlete. “We’re experts in the latest minimally invasive techniques, which translate into faster recovery times – often days versus weeks – for patients.”
Equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, the team treats all variety of sports injuries – from ACL tears to rotator cuff repairs to concussions and beyond – no matter how they occurred.
UT Southwestern’s Sports Medicine specialists are the official team physicians for the National Hockey League’s Dallas Stars and serve other professional and amateur organizations throughout North Texas, as well as numerous school-based programs and active individuals of all ages.
