For the second consecutive year, UT Southwestern will serve as the Dallas Stars’ official health care provider, charged with managing the full range of medical needs for the players, including the evaluation and treatment of injuries on and off the ice.
The collaboration expands a long-standing relationship between the Stars and UT Southwestern, whose plastic surgeons and neuropsychologists have been part of the hockey club’s medical team for a decade.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to provide comprehensive medical care to the Stars through the breadth and depth of our expertise across the health care spectrum,” says Bruce Meyer, M.D., Executive Vice President for Health System Affairs. “This partnership demonstrates the high level of care we’re able to deliver in an academic medical center.”
The Stars have access to every specialty at UT Southwestern, with the overall team physician relationship led by:
- Robert Dimeff, M.D., UTSW Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service, who serves as the team's Medical Director.
- William Robertson, M.D., UTSW Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service, who is the Head Team Physician.
