Visiting Hours

UT Southwestern Medical Center has flexible visiting hours to accommodate the needs of our hospital patients and their guests. Although visiting hours are open, our patients – your loved ones – should receive plenty of rest so their bodies can heal.

Friends and family members may stay overnight in patient rooms (with the exception of the Intensive Care Unit) as follows:

A Note About Children

We recommended that children under the age of 11 not visit either hospital. If children do visit, they should be supervised closely at all times. No children under the age of 12 are allowed in the Intensive Care Unit waiting rooms.

Waiting Areas

We have specially designated lounge areas for visitors on each patient floor and on the main floor in the hospital lobby.

Specific waiting areas have been designated for families of patients in the Intensive Care and Day Surgery units. Please abide by policies posted in waiting areas.
