UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Reconstructive Transplant program offers an innovative operation for those who have suffered the loss of their hand(s).
We evaluate below-elbow amputees for possible hand transplantation and provide multidisciplinary education and insight. The program is a collaborative effort that joins the surgical, medical, and rehabilitative services to provide state-of-the-art reconstruction and transplant care.

We are dedicated to restoring critical hand functions and regaining the important sense of touch – something that a prosthetic cannot provide.
We provide transplant recipients with medical, financial, and psychosocial information, and offer post-transplant care.
