Plastic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center is at the epicenter of changes in the way cosmetic and reconstructive procedures are performed. This includes groundbreaking discoveries on how the face ages, innovations to improve healing after surgery, new reconstructive procedures for cancer patients, and many other advances in plastic surgery techniques and technology. Our work is based on a dedication to world-class patient care, research, and educating future and current plastic surgeons.
Our experts provide care to adult and pediatric patients from North Texas and all around the world. We offer access to the latest plastic surgery innovations available – making what might be considered complex for some plastic surgery centers more straightforward at UT Southwestern. Patients can rely on our team for reliable facts and information, with an intense focus on doing what’s safe and effective for each person we treat.
Under the leadership of Rod J. Rohrich, M.D., UT Southwestern's Department of Plastic Surgery has grown to be one of the largest, most highly regarded plastic and reconstructive surgery programs at an academic medical institution, not only in the United States, but in the world. Our faculty members have gained national and international recognition for their work.
Each of our plastic surgeons has completed extensive training and adheres to a strict code of ethics. Our surgeons are board certified in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. We have published thousands of articles, papers, and books; chaired national and international symposia on all aspects of plastic surgery; and are highly recognized for presenting groundbreaking findings. In addition to leading medical publications, our team regularly appears in national media outlets, including The New York Times, Allure Magazine, the View, the Today Show, ABC World News Tonight, NPR, and many others.
All outpatient and inpatient procedures are performed in a medically accredited facility, including our University Hospitals and Clinics, the UT Southwestern Outpatient Surgery Center, and Children’s Medical Center. In addition, many of our patients choose to recover and rest at our Medallion Guest Suites, which combine a medically safe environment with a hotel-like atmosphere.
