Respiratory illnesses can include a variety of problems, including colds, flu, runny noses, coughs, and sore throats. Some children may also have chronic illnesses that affect the breathing system such as asthma and cystic fibrosis.
The Cystic Fibrosis Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center is an approved Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Care Center offering comprehensive evaluation and treatment of children with suspected and confirmed diagnoses of cystic fibrosis and other pulmonary diseases.
UT Southwestern, in partnership with Children's Medical Center, offers both inpatient and outpatient consultation for a wide variety of chest disorders in children.

- Congenital anomalies of the chest
- Pulmonary disability associated with neuromuscular disease
