UT Southwestern Medical Center, in partnership with Children's Health, offers both inpatient and outpatient consultation for a wide variety of chest disorders in children. Our nationally ranked programs offer expert care for each child’s respiratory condition.

Comprehensive Care for Pulmonary Diseases in Children

Respiratory illnesses can include a variety of problems, including asthma and sleep disorders, such as apnea. Some children also have chronic illnesses that affect the breathing system, such as cystic fibrosis, sickle cell, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia.

The Cystic Fibrosis Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center, one of the largest in the country, is an approved Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Care Center that provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of children with suspected and confirmed diagnoses of cystic fibrosis and other pulmonary diseases.

Our special services program includes:

• Bronchoscopy
• Exercise testing
• Infant pulmonary function testing
• Polysomnography (sleep studies)

Conditions We Treat

We offer both inpatient and outpatient consultation for a wide variety of chest disorders in children. Our care team includes pulmonary physicians who are board-certified in both pediatrics and pulmonary medicine and have specific training to diagnose and treat children with respiratory conditions, whether common or complex.
