Malunions and Nonunions

Bones do not always heal properly after a traumatic injury or due to post-traumatic arthritis. For severe cases, orthopaedic reconstruction is needed to correct these problems – which include malunions (bones that have healed incorrectly) and nonunions (fractures that have not healed).

UT Southwestern Medical Center’s orthopaedic specialists employ various treatment methods including open reduction and internal fixation with bone graft or corrective osteotomies to correct these conditions. Our orthopaedic surgeons are proficient in the latest assessment and treatment methods for these conditions.

We are dedicated to providing expert and compassionate care to help you achieve a renewed state of health.
