UT Southwestern Medical Center physicians are nationally recognized experts in both clinical care and research. We have one of the few fellowship-trained physicians in Texas who has advanced training in endoscopic skull base surgery.
The assembled expertise includes a range of hard-to-find specialties: otorhinolaryngology (head and neck surgery), neurosurgery, neuro-ophthalmology, neurologic oncology, radiation oncology, interventional radiology, and pathology.
Our team provides skull base surgery patients with support throughout the entire process of diagnosis, treatment, and after care. Oncology-certified nurse practitioners serve as Patient Navigators, collaborating with the physician team to streamline the patient experience.
Other members of the patient care team that focus specifically on skull base disorders include audiologists, dietitians, pharmacists, social workers, and therapists trained in vestibular and facial nerve rehabilitation.
Pete Batra, M.D., FACS

Sam Barnett, M.D.
Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery. A fellowship-trained skull base neurosurgeon, Dr. Barnett has vast experience managing benign and malignant tumors and has published several articles on complex skull base problems.
