Neuropathic Pain

Understanding and treating individuals with neuropathic pain necessitates an integrated approach from multiple specialties.

At UT Southwestern Medical Center, we offer treatments for men and women suffering from migraine and other types of headaches as well as peripheral neuropathy, a deterioration of the body’s peripheral nerves. Our neurologists use state-of-the-art methods to diagnose conditions, and then tailor individualized treatments for each patient.

Our physicians will first examine your medical history, including a thorough review of headache or pain history. They may request neurological exams and neuropsychological assessments to explore possible causes and suggest treatment options.

State-of-the-art procedures such as electrophysiological tests, magnetic resonance imaging, and blood analyses are also available to further investigate your pain sources.

Patients experiencing headaches can also be treated by our headache and facial pain,  pain management, or dentistry and oral surgery services. Patients experiencing neuropathic or other chronic pain can also be treated by our pain management service.
