People fighting head and neck cancers know how their disease impacts daily life in ways that others often take for granted: speaking, swallowing, and even breathing.

Head and neck cancer can affect a person’s self-image as well. At Simmons Cancer Center, our patient care teams work hard to help you maintain your quality of life while the healing process is underway.

Our challenge is not only to cure patients’ cancer but also to restore or safeguard vital organs and functions. Our physicians work to preserve both life and quality of life, understanding patients’ concerns about their appearance and facial symmetry.
