The Urgent Care Clinic at Simmons Cancer Center provides timely care for oncology patients with urgent treatment- and/or disease-related problems. Patients will be seen by a mid-level provider (nurse practitioner or physician assistant) who will work in collaboration with their physician to coordinate care. Simmons Cancer Center patients should go to the Urgent Care Clinic based on the recommendation of the triage nurse who answers the phone (214-645-4673 or 866-460-4673) or their physician’s nurse. Currently, the Urgent Care Clinic’s services are primarily for patients undergoing active treatment for their condition who develop treatment-related and/or disease-related side effects including, but not limited to:
Other conditions will be seen on a case-by-case basis. Always go to the closest emergency room if you have a life- threatening emergency (i.e., chest pain, shortness of breath, intolerable pain).
