UT Southwestern Medical Center is committed to ensuring that our patients are satisfied with the care and service they receive here.
To objectively measure our patients’ overall care experience, we ask them to tell us how we are doing and where we can improve – from the attentiveness of our nursing staff to the cleanliness of the rooms to the quality of the food, and everything in between. We use the feedback we receive to continuously improve the care and services we provide.
UT Southwestern also uses a third-party survey, the Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey, and we compare our results with those of other hospitals and clinics nationwide. We are proud to note that in 2011, UTSW was the nation’s only academic medical center to win two major patient satisfaction awards from Press Ganey, and were one of only two to do so in 2012.
In addition, UT Southwestern participates in the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, which was developed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), a federal agency responsible for improving national health care quality and patient safety.
We invite you to examine the overall patient satisfaction scores and percentile rankings for UT Southwestern’s hospitals:
