Heart Failure Best Practices

UT Southwestern Medical Center is widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading heart disease treatment centers, including treatment for heart failure. Heart failure is a condition in which the heart does not have the ability to pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs.

Heart failure is usually chronic, meaning it’s an ongoing condition, but it can be managed and treated under the guidance of a physician.

UT Southwestern closely monitors several “core measures” – considered medical “best practices” in heart failure care – to ensure we are meeting recommended guidelines.
