How UTSW Handles Blood Clot Prevention – Patients Who Developed a Blood Clot While in the Hospital Who Did Not Get Treatment That Could Have Prevented It

Why Is This Important?

UT Southwestern monitors the percentage of patients who get a blood clot during hospitalization to see if they received appropriate treatment to prevent a blood clot. There are many reasons why a patient may not receive such treatment, but each case is reviewed to be sure appropriate preventative treatment was considered.
